I have a 2000 Chrysler Minivan with a 4 speed automatic and 3.3L engine. It
now has 38000 miles on it and when looking at the service manual it mentions
the 3 speed automatic for service but not the 4 speed. When would be a good
time to have the system serviced. Would you do a flush or a drop the pan and
    change the filter?

If you haven't done anyhting abusive (heavy towing, drag racing ;) etc. drop
the pan and do it with +3. If you'd like to take advantage of the +4
benefits than have it flushed over to that.
