Tool to disconnect fuel lines

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by Kirk Matheson, Jan 9, 2004.

  1. I want to replace the fuel filter on my Dodge Stratus. The lines going
to the tank use a "quick disconnect" fitting.

Do I need a special tool to undo the connector? If so where can I find
    one?

    Thanks,

No, special tools are not required.

Push the fitting together, squeeze the tabs on the connector,
    pull the fitting apart.

The fuel filter in the cloud cars is in a bit of an awkward
place, if you can't get your fingers positioned such that you can
squeeze the connector tabs, a needle nosed pliers can be used.

if it has the black plastic around the line were it goes into the filter
just push in the plastic and it will disconnect
