    The stock rim size on my Plymouth Sundance is 185/70-14

    What would be the effects of mounting 195/70-14 tires, considering this is
    even possible?

    thanks

    What is the width of your current rims?

    Given a tire that's X - Y - Z where
    X is section width (mm)
    Y is sidewall ratio
    Z is rim diameter (inches)

    Then:

    Sidewall height (inches) = (X * Y) / 2540
    Section Width (max tire width?) in inches = X / 25.4
    The average recommended rim width (in inches)
    = [ X * 0.0359 - 0.82 ] +/- Q
    Where 0.5 <= Q <= 1.75

    Or (working backwards):
    X = 27.86 * rim width + 22.8

    Table of wheel width and corresponding recommended tire section width:

    5.5 176
    6 190
    6.5 204
    7 218
    7.5 232
    8 246

    I'm thinking your current rims are either 5.5 or 6" wide. If 6, then
    the 195 width is probably ok. Your effective (loaded and rolling)
    diameter will change from 23.5 to 24.0 inches (you will be going a
    little faster than you speedo will indicate).
