    Truth is that even if the big 3 went bankrupt, the stoppage of domestic
    US vehicle production couldn't / wouldn't last long. Venture capital
    and other investment firms would swoop in and organize parts suppliers
    and assembly plants into new, vertically integrated and self-sufficient
    corporations. They would not be hindered with the drag of supporting
    retired former employees with pension and healthcare benefits. They
    would re-hire the same workers under new contracts.
