I have an ignition by-pass that doesn't allow my 2001 PT Cruiser to
crank until I turn the headlights on. Unfortunately if I leave them on
it's a dead battery. If I do it at home, I can put the battery charger
on. Away from home it's a call to the AAA.
Where can I tap into the headlights to install either an audible or
visible "alarm" indicating the lights are on??

Owning a 2001 PT myself I am a bit surprised that Yours doesn`t have that.
But on the other hand, mine doesn`t have such an ignition bypass. Which
doesn`t really make sense to me in the first place ...

My PT does have a bell that chimes when I get out of the car and the
headlights are on. But it's just one of bells that chime when
something's on, something's off, etc.. I want something that will
immediately remind me to turn the damn lights off as soon as I start
    the car.
You don't have one because this anti-theft device is an after-market
product that my best buddy had installed on the car. I bought the car
    from his widow.

Ah ... ok. A theft protection makes sense to me ( was wondering what it was
    meant for) ...

    Hi...

I guess an electronic solution would be possible, but probably
far easier, cheaper, and safer to try another way?

How about if you think of your alarm system not in the sense that
the headlights must be on, but rather as "my hand has to be on the
    switch" :)

As you release the key with one hand, simultaneously switch the lights
    back off with the other.

Betcha a dollar against a stale donut that after you force yourself
to do it a for a few days it'll become second nature :)

    Just a thought...

PS. I like the chocolate covered donuts :)

UMM< why not turn off the lights as soon as you start the car. IF you forget
to turn them off after three seconds of starting the car, you should really
    be tested for Alzheimers.

umm, like you said in another post, the car chimes, when you exit, so there
    is your reminder.
