My '03 T&C has the auto lights feature, they come on when dark
and also when the wipers are used. Where is the sensor that
controls the light/dark feature ? I would like them to come on
sooner than they do now and thought I might somehow 'trick' the
    sensor level.
    Thx !

Also, is there a way to tell if they are on? I have an '04 T&C and really
wish there was an indicator so I didn't have to try to catch my reflection
in a window as I drive past. Hard to tell by the gauge lights.

    The switch will work.

  4. I bet if we work at it long enough, we can figure out solutions to all the
myriad problems introduced by automatic headlamp controls.

    My solution: Manual headlamp controls.

Daniel...what a radical solution! ;-) Of course you know I agree with you.

I do have a comment. Please, PLEEEEASSSEE don't tell me that Chrysler has
started going down the ill-advised GM route with _mandatory_ auto (so called
but hardly true) lighting controls. Please tell me that they are provided as a
option one can choose not to have. They are one of the worst examples of
over-engineering a solution that introduces quite a few more issues than it
    supposedly solves.

  6. I don't know; I've no interest in current "Chrysler" products, or current
offerings from any other company I can think of.

the sensor is on the plastic piece that snaps on the base of the rear view
mirror. And for the people who are worried about it Chrysler gives you the
option of manual on, manual off and automatic. The best of all worlds!

Actually Chrysler and Ford have the following positions with their
automatic lights Auto-Off-Park-On. Not a bad set up. GM's lack of
manual override makes sure I will not buy one of their cars.

I don't know if your T&C is like my Neon, but for the instrument light
dimmer, there is a "day" mode, where the radio, and odometer displays are at
full brightness when the headlights are on (useful for driving with the
headlight are on during the day, or according to the manual, it's useful for
funeral precessions). If the dimmer is set to this mode, it is hard to tell
if the headlights are on. If you dim the lights, the odometer / radio will
be dim when the headlights are on, and bright when they are off.

Or as others said, you can use the "switch".

That is a much better setup over GM...it gives the owner of the car the
decision. How radical is that concept!? :)

I concur...I too won't consider a GM vehicle again due to their general idiotic
lighting control (or lack of control) setups.
