    ’96 sebring 120K miles

It runs fine after it has been sitting for a while (overnight) but
after it has been running and engine temp is normal it gets really
rough at idle and especially noticeable at lower RPM ~1500. There is
no stalling, check engine light did come on.

  2. Then pull the codes and post them, please, that is what the check engine
    light
    is for.

You don't state what engine this vehicle has, but if it is the 2.5 6cyl try
    this.
If the tube that runs from the EGR valve to the side of the intake manifold
is hot at idle, unplug the EGR valve vacuum hose and see if the idle
smoothes out. It is very possible that the valve is causing your rough idle
