I have a 1977 Dodge class C motorhome, 440 engine with a cracked right side
exhaust manifold. Looking for a source for a used one and source for new one.
I am also open to any new repair process, i.e. welding of cast iron. I am in
California and would appreciate any help or advice. Thanks in advance, Marvin

  2. You might want to check the Dorman catalog at your local auto parts store. I
have a Dorman catalog that's a few years old and they have a whole section for
new exhaust manifolds. There is one listed, P/N: 674-176, which it states is
for, CHRYSLER- 1978-72 Truck/Motorhome with 7.2L (440) Kit contains [the
manifold, of course] 2 Studs, 2 Nuts, and 1 Manifold Gasket". It is pictured in
the catalog with a center exhaust which presumes that this manifold is not sold
"side specific". The catalog is old, but the website (http://www.rbinc.com)
still shows the number as valid.

    Good luck,

Just to name two of dozens....

The exhaust manifold casting number will help get an identical
replacement, but if you're willing to have an exhaust shop weld on a new
flange to your exhaust headpipe, you can get any manifold from the
    correct side of a 383, 400, 440, or 413-powered Dodge, Chrysler, or
Plymouth. Most of the time, the only difference is in the orientation of
the bolt holes for the flange. A few cars had oddball outlet positions,
but most junkyards have Hollander's interchange manuals which should
allow a pretty easy identification of candidate donors.

New? Completely out of the question unless you want to convert to
headers (TTI is the best for Mopar). Those manifolds haven't been made
since 1978, but there are literally millons of good used ones out there.
