I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500, and the seat belt on my driver's side
just went out. Dodge wants $150.00 for a new one. All the junk yards
around either dont have one, or wont take a part a seat to get one (my
seat belt is inside the seat. On ebay I can get two racing seat with
seat belts and shipping for $300.00.

What do you think? The only things I am afraid of, are the seats
fitting appropietly, and me fiiting in the seats appropietly, most say
waist size 32-38, but im more like a cargo pants 40.

Let me know what you think,

    Thanks - Nick

How did the seatbelt go out. Was it in an accident? Because if it failed on
it's own, it is covered by warranty. In Canada anyway. I worked at Chrysler
in Canada, and even people who had 20 year old cars or older ended up
getting free seatbelts. The dealer would fax in the request for older
vehicles and what seatbelts needed to be replaced, and an engineer would
tell the dealer what current seatbelt it cold be replaced with. Then it was
covered by warranty. They never wanted a customer driving around without a
seatbelt working. But, If it was blown because of an accident, or cut, then
the customer would have to pay.
