I have a really boring looking 2004 PT Cruiser. Lately I've been
seeing some really nice grills and trim add ons on a bunch of PTs.
Does anyone here have a good place online to purchase these add ons?

    Thanks

    PTCRUISERPARTS.com

is a great starting place. You can also request a free color catalog
with many photos. Covers everything you might want or need. I've used a
few different vendors for my PT mods and these guys are the best as far
    as I'm concerned.

You can check out my minor mods at; Stone-PT.com

Be forewarned that once you start modding is difficult to stop.

    Enjoy..........

Before getting too carried away with "Bling", I would recommend one
absolutely necessary add-on: hood struts. Two days after getting my PT
Cruiser, I was showing it to people at the office when a friend shut
the hood for me. Unfortunately, he failed to remove the little support
rod that comes with the PT, and it pushed up and dented the hood from
the inside. I have seen this problem on at least two other PTs in
parking lots, so I know it's a common problem. A lot of mechanics
aparently over look the support rod too.

It's a nice little add on, and you can do it yourself in about an hour
    for about $120-150.
    This is what I used:

And if you want it to "bling your ride", get the chrome ones.

    hmmm....

First.....friends don't let friends shut the hood on their new ride.

Second......find a mechanic that has mastered the art of closing hoods.

The struts are nice, but they don't exactly fit in the "bling" catagory.
Difficult to notice them when the PT is in cruising mode.

    Just my .02 LOL

I didn't exactly "let" him close the hood. I was at the back of the
car showing someone else the hatch when he took it upon himself to
    close it.

This was aparently not the first time someone had done that to this
car, becuse when I received the PT from CarMax, I pointed out that the
rod was bent. They ordered a new rod, but before it came in the damage
was done. CarMax graciously repaired the hood, no charge.

If this was the only example of PT hoods getting damaged, I would say
it was just one guys mistake, but if you read the discussion boards
enough, and just look at the hoods of enough PTs, you will see that
this is way too common a problem to ignore.

While the struts can't be seen while "cruising", a dent in the hood
can. To me a big "ding" makes a car uglier than a "bling" makes it
    pretty.
