Looking for Victims of 1SourceAutoWarranty.com

  1. Anyone have a bad experience with 1SourceAutoWarranty.com Car Extended
Warranty? Right from the beginning I've had problems with them. I took my
car to the dealer and 1Source refused to pay what the dealer was asking for
the price for the starter and labor so I had to pay the difference. Ended up
paying $150 on a warranty that's zero deductible and their most costly
option, "The Diamond Plan." This time they are holding me up by sending out
a claims adjuster and the dealer has been waiting for two days for an
answer. My Internet research has turned up numerous people with similar
complaints. The attitude of the people at claims department (Sherman and
Chris) is just horrible. So I tried to call the sales department. It's
amazing to see how even their attitude changed once they got my check. The
sales department was SO nice. Until they got my check. Now if I call the
sales department, the second they realize I'm not calling to buy their
warranty, they transfer me instantly to the claims department. They don't
even say they are. No goodbye, nothing, just click! I've never had to
struggle like this with an auto warranty company. I paid all this money for
peace of mind and all I'm getting is grief. All 1sourceautowarranty.com
victims please contact me. Let's get together a class action lawsuit. If we
band together maybe we can get them to honor their contractual agreements.
There's power in numbers. Any other ideas on what to do in a case like this?

I spoke to these people on the phone about purchasing a warranty for a van I
bought last year. I don't recall the details about why I didn't go with
them. But I do recall that the guy I spoke to on the phone wasn't willing
to prove to me in writing that what he was telling me was true. He wanted
me to just take his word for it. Yeah right!

I ended up going with http://www.autowarrantybroker.com They were cheaper
and didn't require an inspection. They have been great.

Before I ever do business with any insurance company, I always call and pose
as a customer trying to get service through the claims department. I've
eliminated quite a few insurance companies this way. You can tell a lot
about a company by talking to their claims department *before* you buy from
    them.

Google is also a good source for information on a company's business
    practices. I went here
    http://www.consumeraffairs.com/auto_warranty/1source.html Good information
    there too.

I realize this doesn't help your case, but thought it might help you and
others in the future when shopping for extended warranties. I researched
about 4 months before deciding which one to go with.

    Good luck,
    Brigitte

You might call your state department of insurance and see if they regulate
    these people.

It's been my experience that the first thing they ask when reporting a claim is
your policy number. How do you get info from them without having a policy??

    policy??

Yep, you're right...that is generally their first question. I usually tell
them I don't have access to that information right now and try to get them
to go from there. If they are rude and not helpful, that will usually give
you some indication of what they're like. If they try to be generally
helpful without knowing your specific account info, that will tell you a lot
    about them too.
