Lebaron transmission question?????

Discussion in 'LeBaron' started by FrancisEstrand, Sep 30, 2005.

  1. I have a 1995 Chrysler Lebaron. In 2-3 years I had to have three times the
transmission worked on. First I paid around $1500 then $600 then free.
However, the transmission is go crazy again for the 4th times. Do someone
else had the same kind of problem with this type of car or am I doomed?

Depends on the problem. Is it repaired by the same people / shop? If so I
would say it is the quality of the workmanship. And if so, take it to a
reputible shop specializing in transmissions.Or it could be the quality of
the rebuilt tranny, (If installed). If so, get them to get a better quality
transmission elsewere, or again get it done elsewere. Anyway, what were the
problems with the transmission problems. They could be unrelated, but you
    gave no specifics.

  4. Thank you very much for this information.
A few days ago I took my car to my mechanic who told me that the
transmission just needed some fluid. Now it is worse to the point I am
afraid the car may stop at any time.
Symptoms when cold, transmission seems not to want to go to the next gear.
Engines goes to 3KRPM + suddenly for a while then back down as transmission
    cacthes up.
When driving around 65 transmission feels like disconnecting and engine
turning empty and car starts slowing down then transmission catches up.

I do not know if it is very understandable but it is about it.

  6. What is the mileage? What kind of transmission fluid did your mechanic use?
What year and engine size is this car?
