Does anyone know where I can get some headers for a 1966 Chrysler New
Yorker? Seems no one makes them due to the close tolerances that exist
within the engine compartment, block, and steering components... Any
    ideas???

What about Hooker and the other companies shorty headers? Would they
    work?

Guy hear in town had a 68 Newport convert with a 440 headers and
laughing gas that ran twelve's. (65 to 68 Same basic car!!) Had headers
lotso room in those old sleds so most b/body headers would fit I assume!
If I'm out to dads next week I'll get him to pop the hood on his 66 New
    Yorker and have a boo!!

Only thing I could do for my 64 300 was to have headers made for the
car. When I stuck the Hemi in the car the steering box was way to big to
get any pipes around it and stay in the frame. I could have gone the other
side of the frame and into the fender wells but didn't want to do that.
Don't remember how much they were but, if I recall correctly, they weren't
all that much. Had them ceramic coated after they were all finished and
    fitted.

TTI makes them, but they are around $800. Kind of a steep price for me
right now... I was hoping for something around $300.....

If I were you I would roll the dice and try a set of ultra-cheapie "B-body"
    headers.
They've got to be a damn close fit dimensionally to the C-bodies.
The TTI headers are the cat's meow but they are'nt cheap.

I again ask what about shorties... They have shown to provide
    outstanding performance within tight restrictions.

Yea cheapies are made to follow the block fairly well and i think in a
66 to 69 C body their is lots of room!

  20. I just did a little lookin' on the Hedman site
    http://www.hedman.com/pages/hedmanmain.html,
And they show the same 2 headers for virtually all big block B & E bodies.
(and I concur with Dodgem that they'll likely fit C-bodies as well)
Coupla catches, tho.. (Gotta read them footnotes!) - the "shorties" need to
use a mini-starter! And the full length may need to modify/replace the
    shifter cross-shaft.
A pic. of the full length:

    Hope this all helps.
