Having trouble removing fuel line from filter on a 92 New Yorker. One side
is a rubber line with clamp...but the other side has a sort of collar, which
I think is called a quick release fitting??..anyway. is there a way to get
this off without buying a special tool?
Any help or tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Okay..but I cannot remove the fuel line from the filter..how do I do that?
I've pushed and pulled and twisted, but it won't come. That's the problem.
    Thanks.

Does "okay" mean you bought the tool? Cause if you did, you just shove it
into the joint and it'll release. They work great.

  6. Not always. If you have limited clearance to get at the joint then
it can be a bitch to get these disconnected even using the cheap plastic
    tool.

No..I didn't buy a tool yet. Going to have to, I guess..but not sure what to
buy. Looked at some on some sites. Some look sorta like a crowbar, and saw
something that looked like a little plastic collar of sorts. Which is the
    one to get?
    Thanks for the help guys.

first clean out the dirt under and in the cup collar with some wd 40 and then
press the collar into the cup with a pair of pliers and it should release there
is also a new fitting kit for the fuel filter if u get it from a dealer should
the lines are rusted and break
