Fuel economy myths

  1. I don't understand the penchant for quoting L/100 km, as is common
    throughout Continental Europe.

    Km/l would be much more useful.

    Its irrelevant, mpg, l/km and km/l are all equally informative and give
    you exactly the same information. Its a matter of personal preference. I
    see what youre thinking though.

    L/100 km is not used in Continental Europe only but is the standard
    everywhere the metric system is used.
    The only reason why some people want to use km/l is because they think the
    same principle apply as in m.p.g. Doh!

    I just bought a Buick with a 3.5L engine and 6-speed transmission. Where an
    I find a torque vs rpm curve for this engine? Previous cars I've owned
    sometimes had the curves in the literature. All things being equal, it
    would be nice to cruise at the peak torque.
