If high sulfur coal were fully exploited they could manufacture
methanol for a little over a dollar a gallon. By the time you add
distribution and road tax that makes it at least $1.80/gal which by
heat energy corresponds to $3.10/gal gasoline. Gas out here is headed
for $1.99 as we speak-I fueled up (gasoline) at $2.11 today!

Cheap gas, a mixed blessing.
