engine and tranny questions

    I have a '86 Grand wagoneer with a 258 six in it. I also have what's left
    of an 89 G.W. that has an 8 that is blown. The 89 has Dana 44 axles. What
    I would like to know is, can I bolt an overdrive 627 Torqueflite directly to
    the 258? If I can't, then what would I need? Any help would be much
    appreciated.
