I have a 1998 dodge caravan. There is a dinging that happens while I
drive. It will definatly start to ding while it is cold and first
start the van. It may stop for a very short period of time and then
will start up again. Sometimes 2 or 3 dings or maybe a persistant
ding while I am driving. It seems to be getting worse and is there
all the time. The sound is the same as if you leave the headlights on
after you shut off your van or if you leave the keys in. I have
checked all the fuses with no luck and have even looked for the
speaker that it comes from (just to even plug it up so I can't hear it
anymore). If anyone has any ideas that I can try or knows how to
shut this off Please let me know. My wife drives this van and it is
making her even more bitcher than usual.

You have to find out what is causing the ding (reminder) before you can shut
it off. you can not just shut the noise off until you fix the problem. It
could be the key reminder switch for the headlight, a turn signal reminder
    chime, a seat belt lite

Also check your all door and lift gate ajar switches. Are the interior
courtesy lights coming on when this occurs?
