    I don't even think that's possible. The everyday price at Advance for
    the Pure One (which I use) is around $6 ($5.88, to be exact, this past
    weekend: PL14670).

    I used to see this with Fram filters on my '88 2.2L Omni. Never had
    a problem with Purolators. I just figured it was something peculiar
    about my old Omni.

  3. A lot of early 2.2 engines died prematurely due to Fram's decision to make
    the inner element shorter than it should've been.

    Mine was still going strong at 120K miles when we traded it in for a new
    '98 Neon R/T. It had had a blown head gasket and major A/C work done over
    the years. Of course my '98 Neon had a blown head gasket as well :), but
    at least it was under the extended warranty.

  5. I have had 3 89 sundance 2.2 engines spin the #1 rod bearing does that
    count, all had frams on them.
