CNG conversion

Played with the numbers and I can save big $$ using CNG.

I have a 04 Caravan (3.8L) and need a source of hardware to convert to duel
fuel (gas/CNG and perhaps optioinal LP).

Any input would be appreciated.

Why would you want CNG instead of LPG? CNG has very limited range, plus
high-pressure tanks are expensive.

04 model vehicle would almost certainly have plastic intake manifold. You'd
need gas injectors fitted, total cost around 2000$ (I assume V6 engine?) for
LPG, more for CNG.

LPG is = or > per mile than gas, also I have a locked in low rate of NG for
the next 5+ years.

Here in Old World LPG is about 2x cheaper than regular gas... or rather gas
is 2x more expensive

You are bound to have a lousy range on CNG, probably 100-150miles. How
you're gonna fill 'er up? A compressor is needed - are you going to buy one
(expensive)?

did the deed years back (before all the regulations) compressior is not that
expensive (pay out is less only a few months)

Interesting. Where exactly did you obtain the compressor? Was it slow- or
fast-fillup one? I've been looking into CNG myself, but lack of decent
filling stations network is holding me back. My house uses NG for heating so
I could hook up the compressor and fill up the car overnight, but such
compressors usually run into 2k$ or so.

We used a slow speed compressor and let it run almost constantly to fill a
bank of high pressure tanks. When we needed to fill a vhicle we used the
CNG in the tanks to quick fule the company vans. Most of the time we just
did the deed but is we needed that maximum fill we would fill from one then
another tank is sequence so that the last fill was a top off from a full
storage tank.

In parts of Texas there are fill stations often enough that you can drive
across the state (1000 miles+) using only CNG but you still have to plan the
trip.
