Changing motor mounts, '95 FWD 3.0L How to support engine

I have a '95 LeBAron and I have to replace the motor and transmission
    mounts, I think.

The shop manual says for the right and front to support the engine
with a floor jack, but I'm not sure where. I can't put the jack under
the oil pan, and I don't see another place big enough. Where should I
    do this?

I have a 16" piece of 3x8 that I could use to spread the weight
around, but I don't know if I should use it or where?

For the left motor mount -- Is that the one that is also called the
transmission mount??? -- it says to use a transmission jack. What is
the difference from a floor jack? I don't have a transmission jack,
and I thought I could just use the floor jack again. Would that be
    OK?

Do I even need all three? When parked, the engine rocks back when the
engine is accelerated. I'm not sure I can do the left one myself,
and if I'm real lucky, you will tell me that's not usually a problem.
Only the right one seems easy.

    Thanks.

  2. you can use a floor jack instead of a tranny jack, its just a mount, its
not like your droing the tranny (though i have used a floor jack to swap
trannies in my neon) remember, if you do one mount at a time, all you
need to do is prop the engine up, not balance it. a 4" piece of 2x4 is
enough to distribute the wieght on the oil pan
