  2. There's no rule against it. The most polite way to do it is to post just
the ebay item numbers, which are easier to deal with than the very long
    URL links.

  3. Well, actually this is something that can be abused really quickly, and is a
grey area in terms of a breach of netetiquitte. We do not need posts here
for Ebay auctions selling airshocks/haynes-chilton-clymer manuals/Xenon
blue headlight bulbs/etc. We also do not need posts for auctions with
opening bids that are outrageously high priced compared to market
    value.

If your Ebay auction is for an item that is fairly priced (and by fair I
    mean
what the market decides is fair, not what you want to get for it) and is
either unique, or is something that has a narrow market (such as a factory
service manual, older car part, etc.) then it's welcome. But
    run-of-the-mill
stuff that there's already 50 other auctions of the same item on Ebay are
really not welcome. There are, after all, Usenet newsgroups specifically
    for that kind of thing.

    I agree Ted,

Try and post an "FA" on the ebay newsgroup that is the marketing on line,
INSTEAD of the marketplace on line, AND before the ink is dry
the self appointed "net cops" will have complained to every and anyone (isp
and abuse and even "aunt martha"). The faq does prohibit ads on marketing.
Generally the faq's allow pertinent items that are used and or perused by
    the specific newsgroup.

as for price, only the final bidder or lack of same, will set the market
    price.

  5. For Ebay items that many of the same item sell every day, the market price
    is
the average price of those auctions. It's amusing when some fool thinks
    they
can list one of these items for triple the average price of every other
    sale, but
it becomes insulting when that fool then spams hundreds of newsgroups with
his listing. I see this a lot with computer gear on Ebay.
