ABS Motor Run

    I have a 2001 Sebring with a 2.7 engine with about 60k miles on it. A
noise started the other day coming from under the car. I am a mechanic by
trade in the airline industry. After describing the noise to some
co-workers, it might be the ABS hyd motor starting up. It sounds like a
motor running and you can feel a hum when it is running. It runs for a few
seconds then shuts off. It will do it occasionally while I am driving and
it also might do it while the car is stopped, even in park. This is my
first car with ABS, so I am on the "learn as I go" with this system.
Any thoughts to this symptom?? If it is an ABS motor, what would cause it
    to run and why?
    Thanks for any feedback
    Jon

If it has ATC (Automatic Temp. Control) and is like the LH cars, there
may be a fan that runs intermittently to sample air, and specifically
runs for a few seconds when the engine is shut off. Could that be what
    you're hearing?

The OP states the noise is under the car, the aspirator fan you are
referring to is inside the vehicle

From personal experience (with my own cars) and reading forums, I have
learned to ignore posters' comments about where they think noises are
coming from as perceived from the driver's seat. 9 times out of 10, the
noise is coming from somewhere totally different than the owner (whether
me or someon else) originally thought. It's not even a conscious thing
anymore - I just totally block it out without even realizing it. Hence
my suggestion. I have seen many posts by owners of LH cars almost
identical to the OP's (with the exception of guessing that it was
somehow related to the ABS motor), and it has almost always turned out
to be the ATC fan motor causing the noise. It's just a suggestion.

    Thanks for all the inputs!
The noise and vibs are definitly not coming from anywhere inside the car. I
have yet been able to have my head in the engine compartment or under the
car, while it is doing this to nail down the source. I will keep you
    updated.

My bet is on the radiator fan motor/blade fault..

I can turn the radiator fan on just by selecting the AC on. This is not the
    same noise or vibration.
