my sliding door no longer opens from the inside and the pushbutton latch is
the obvious culprit. But I am unsure of the best way to remove the paneling
without hacking it up. It seems to be in three pieces. Is there a certain
sequence to removing it or can I just pry the piece covering the latch loose
by itself? I have a Chilton's but it's not very much help. Anyone with any
experience in this department, any info will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Did you double-check the child protection lock located on the door near the
    forward latch?

    Cool!

But seriously, don't be an ass.

Did you consider that the latch could be malfunctioning? Your door is
currently operating as if the protection latch is engaged.

I'm not being sarcastic, I REALLY didn't know the thing was there and it did
somehow get engaged and that was the problem. And now that I have some extra
time on my hands, I REALLY am going to play with my Xbox! Thanks again.

Sorry I took that the wrong way.

    Glad to hear it's fixed!

  7. Are you sure the child-proof lock switch hasn't been moved? I had the
same problem and pulled the door apart only to find that the problem was
that somebody had moved this switch on me....

did you by any chance check the child lock feature to see if it's enabled
the upper trim coms off first then the screw under it then it all pops off with
    a good tug
