300c in the UK??

    Not right now it wouldn't. The world consumption of gasoline is increasing,
    and that demand will be met. You can bet on it. It will be met at a price
    that is palatable for whomever fronts the capital. In the states, though,
    there might not be any more refineries. Certainly none are planned that I
    have heard of.

    When it comes to a highly profitable business, there are a lot of really
    crazy beliefs expressed by ordinary folks and even the media. When
    businesses make money as a result of high demand, ignorant people will say
    and believe that they don't "want to" expand and make more money. That's not
    how business works in the U.S., because the government does not allow price
    fixing. Everybody has to run their business to try to make the most money
    possible. You all believe that, right? As a result, when the profit you
    make goes waaaaaay above the cost of capital on new plants, you're going to
    want a new plant. But likely, in the U.S. you can't have one. After they
    started allowing public comments and lawsuits on environmental permits, that
    pretty much ended them.
