According to Newsweek, Chrysler may have a major hit. Has orders for 60k
cars first month which is double what they had for the PTCruiser first
month. Not sure if those figures include the Magnum which reportedly, for
red V8's some dealers are sticking it to buyers for $5k markup over list.
THere is one sitting at the dealer in Raleigh on 70 if anyone needs one.

  2. I've only seen one on the streets of Toronto so far.

Just one Magnum at our local dealer.

    Plenty of 300s though.

Thinking of parting with the M but will wait to see if the 300C will get
    AWD.

I've also heard some reports of an SXT version with 400 HP availability.

The Aspen and Volare were also brisk sellers back in 75

Would have been good cars if put together correctly like todays cars.

The SXT is the mid-level version of the Dodge Magnum Wagon. The reports you
have regarding the 400 HP (6.2?) Hemi will probably be badged the SRT-8
(Crossfire is the SRT-6, 300 will be the SRT-8), according to what I recently
read in either C&D or R&T.

Any truth that the 300C will have AWD?

All but the base model (with 2.7L V6) will have AWD as an option
    beginning this fall.

    Thanks.

Now I have to decide if I would like to part with the M :-(

I wonder how may M owners have or are thinking of switching.

We will probably keep the M but get rid of the 2001 Avalon.

I would have liked to sent the picture I took of my M and the new C but I
know that people don't like pictures being sent on usenet.

You really don't like that Avalon ;-)

Saturday my wife and I took a 2 hour trip. On anything but smoothest roads
we were playing a game in the Avalon called where is the dashboard
vibrations coming from. Could not pin it down. Plus after a few thousand
miles the ride deteriorated terribly when one person is in the car. Not bad
with 2. Defroster, auto climate control, seat heaters and a bunch of other
items also work very poorly in the Avalon.

Sorry to hear but I still have the privilege of hearing Piston slap each
morning; even in this weather on a 2003 Expedition 2004. This was supposedly
taken care of on the 5.4 engines back in '99.

I can hardly wait until the weather gets cold again so I can hear that
piston dance in the cylinder walls.

    No more Expeditions for me.

    Hmmm... Guest

My parents have an Avalon. The thing I noticed was the excessive noise
coming from the wheelwells when travelling in wet, slushy, or gravel road
    conditions.

Also there are so many levers coming out of the steering column, I am always
    grabbing the wrong one.
