    Just did timing chain on a 3.3 there are rubber o-rings between block
    timing cover that may leak past gasket

    A local mechanic say the labor for this job would be 6 hours according
    to the "book". What "book" is that and how to I verify the number?

    You would have to ask the local mechanic what book he used, there are
    several labor manuals by different companies. And they vary with labor and
    parts prices. If you mean how do you verify the labor number......simply ask
    to see the book he uses.
