i am trying to get a 1990 new yorker running after it was park for a
year, the problem is that is starts and runs for 2 to 5 sec then stall.
could the lack of working alternator cause this problem

Could be an alarm system cutting it off, you would need to give more info on
    the problem.
Try locking and unlocking both front doors with the key and then try to
    start it.

    more info:
    3.3l

    New Spark plugs

It has fuel pressure @45-49 psi

the car is from canda so i don't think there is a alarm system, and
the light don't flash and there is no security/alarm light

I would think that the timing is ok, as it worked before it was parked

    the compression is also ok

and no codes show when you cycle the key, only 12 and 55

Just because its a Canadian vehicle means nothing about having an
alarm......did you lock and unlock both doors with the key?

have you tried to keep it running by spraying throttle body cleaner or
something like that in the throttle body to see if it is a fuel problem?
And just because there are no fault codes doesn't mean one of the sensors
aren't causing the problem. you may need a scan tool to verify what the
    sensor values are.

First, try unplugging the MAP sensor.

Second idea, sometimes a non anti theft PCM decides that it wants
to be a anti theft PCM all by itself. Only way to verify is as
Glen said, plug in a scan tool.
